BitComet Feature List
BitComet is a BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP download client!
BitComet is a BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP download management software, which is powerful, fast, very easy-to-use, and completely FREE. It contains many advanced features that can accelerate your downloading up to 5 - 10 times faster, or even more.
A list of the most important features available in BitComet at present time1) includes: BitTorrent Download–fast and powerful
- full support for the BitTorrent protocol;
- support for multi-tracker torrents;
- support for the DHT Network (trackerless torrents), utf-8 extension, and UDP tracker Protocol v2.
- support for web-seeding(GetRight version);
- support for initial seeding (super-seeding);

- Intelligent Connection Optimization: Configuration is automatically set to match your connection type;
- Intelligent Disk Cache: Memory cache is used to reduce the frequency read/write operations with your hard drive, therefore, increasing its service life;
- option to allocate disk space for a task before starting the download;
- Quick Resume: The torrents may be seeded or resumed immediately, without time-consuming scans;
- Auto Configuration of ICF (Internet Connection Firewall) and ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7;
- Auto Configuration of the listen port (through UPnP), Port Mapping in router: (UPnP support is required in router, Windows XP/Vista/7 is required).
- Option of disabling and/or setting download priority of individual files, in any torrent: Files can be disabled, so that they are not downloaded, or set to higher or lower priority, allowing you to select which files finish first.
HTTP/FTP Download--Innovative P2P Technology
- P2P downloading: BitTorrent technology is integrated into HTTP/FTP download, with which BitComet automatically finds other clients and gets data from them (in order to increase your download speed)，without additional bandwidth usage of the HTTP server.
- Intelligent File Rename: Automatically chooses the best name for your download file.
- Preview while Downloading: Preview of mp3, rmvb, wmv and qt, is available during downloading process.
- Multi-Mirror download: Mirror servers are automatically found for the file being downloaded. Data from these servers are downloaded at the same time, in order to increase download speed 300% or more.
- Multi-Section download: Files are split into several sections, which are downloaded at the same time through multiple connections per task, in order to increase the download speed up to 500% or more.
- Multi-Language Support: Multi-language web pages and encoded URLs can be correctly handled.
- Quick Resume: Stopped download tasks can be resumed from where they left off, from both HTTP and FTP servers (granted they support resuming).
